“This year we have 338 exhibitors and 462 buyers from 65 countries. This is a new record for Meetings Africa,” said Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, National Convention Bureau Chief Officer, ahead of the show’s 2019 edition opening in Johannesburg, 26 February.

On the eve of the opening there were Business Opportunity Network (BONDay) sessions at the Sandton Convention Centre, where Kotze-Nhlapo welcomed guests, 25 February.

There was an early motivation session from mountaineer Sibusiso Vilane, keynote at the BONDay sessions. “To reach new heights and achieve great things, we need one thing and that is self belief that we can do it,” he told the audience.

Second speaker up was Mquondisi Gumede, Founder and CEO of The OMG, speaking on ‘Using future technologies to tap into opportunities’.

ICCA President Nina Pretorius was addressing the issue of ‘What is your organisation’s currently reality, and what is its most desirable future’? during the programme.

IMEX Group is also running a Future Leaders Forum session during BONDay.

And ICCA’s Middle East Regional Director, Senthil Gopinath, is one of the speakers tackling the topic: ‘Exploring the MICE industry’s trends and innovation’ during BONDay.

Meetings Africa runs 26-27 February in the Sandton Convention Centre.
