Global travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has shaken up its European management structure, abolishing the roles of Country Director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Benelux, UK & Ireland, France, and Spain.

As a result, the following people have left the company: Peter Ashworth (Senior VP, Central & Eastern Europe), Antonio Calegari (VP & Country Director, Italy and Greece), Olivier Chateau (MD Benelux & Eastern Europe), Johan Wilson (VP and Country Director, UK & Ireland) and Brigitte Nisio (VP and Country Director, France).

CWT’s new EMEA structure is now modelled on its Nordic operation, a change, the agency says, designed to optimise speed to market and service to clients.

The six new senior appointments made are: Stéphane Birochau – VP North & South Europe Programme Management; Denise Harman – VP Western Europe Programme Management; Westyna Kulczycka VP Poland and Deputy Head of Eastern Europe; Jan Latenstein van Voorst VP EMEA Multinational Programme Management & Sales; and Jari Oinonen VP North & South Europe Sales; and Phil Wooster VP Western Europe Sales.

“I am delighted to welcome the new appointments – this new organisational structure will make us more responsive to our clients’ needs across EMEA,” said Chris Bowen, CWT’s Managing Director, EMEA. “Business is increasingly done across borders – especially within Europe – and as our customers evolve, we’re evolving with them.”

CWT operates in around 150 countries, and in 2017 posted a total transaction volume of more than US$23bn.
