Engagement agency BI WORLDWIDE’s (BIW) Events Management team has launched in:sight, a project that supports a series of new event initiatives.

One significant project under the in:sight theme is a series of investigative reports on emerging destinations.

A small number of BIW event management associates will be travelling to various destinations, the first being Rwanda, and will attempt to undertake a journalistic-style investigation for the MICE industry.

The team will take part in gorilla trekking, visiting local villages and investigating venues and accommodation to see if Rwanda could be an emerging destination for the events industry.

Head of the agency’s Solutions Design Department, Katrina Rannard, will be travelling to Rwanda alongside events project executive Teresa Allen.

Says Rannard:  “It’s not about organising just another familiarisation trip. We are spending time with government tourism representatives, hotel associations and airlines during the trip to understand future investment plans. We have recognised that clients today have a wealth of information at their fingertips to inspire them to pursue experiential events anywhere in the world. We want to ensure that BI Worldwide remains a trusted partner for this new generation of buyer.”

Head of events Shaun Casey adds: “In today’s highly competitive marketplace, it is important for an agency to differentiate itself significantly from the competition. BIW does this through its unique combination of production, technology and people with the right attitude to deliver a premium experience for our clients. In addition, we consider ourselves as thought leaders in our space and we wanted to create an overarching theme to encompass all of the good things we are doing.”

More destinations are to be launched during the course of 2017. An in:sight into the use of technology for audience engagement and measuring ROI is scheduled in the second half of this year.

BIW is part of the $650m, global firm Schoeneckers Inc and employs more than 1,500 Associates throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
