The city of Cape Town is hosting a live event, Connect in the City Live, in September.
The three-day event marks a return to live in South Africa, and forms part of the Africa Travel Week celebrations for 2021.
The early stages of the event will comprise familiarisation trips for exhibitors who attended Africa Travel Week Virtual in April, as well as selected media.
The main event will then take the form of a dedicated travel and tourism conference with speakers across multiple days, speed networking and the African Travel & Tourism Awards.
Megan Oberholzer, portfolio director for travel, tourism & creative industries at Reed Exhibitions South Africa, commented: “We were delighted with the connections that were forged during the recent virtual WTM Africa and ILTM Africa and are looking forward to bringing key tourism stakeholders together in September to experience Cape Town first-hand.”
Executive mayor of Cape Town Dan Plato added: “We have worked with the tourism industry and other government counterparts to put together health and safety protocols to ensure we can safely welcome international visitors to our shores.”
